I was curious about the Upromise coupon mentioned earlier and wanted to give it a try. So I stopped by Smith's to pick up some Charmin and see what happened. My Smith's (Market Place 90th) had all their Charmin Toilet paper on “clearance”, make sure you check yours. The 12 Big Rolls = 24 were priced at $6.83. I choose the Basic (shown above) because I had a $1.00 paper coupon I got in the mail for that variety, but all the 12=24 rolls were on sale.
After the $3.00 eCoupon here or here + the .25¢ coupon form the 7/4 PG that makes them $3.58. That's a great price for 12 big rolls of Charmin. I wasn't sure if the $3.00 eCoupon would work because it was 12 rolls, but it did just fine.
I also found eggs for .69¢ a dozen and this is probably the last day (7/13) to get that great buy on Frigo Cheese Head string cheese. On sale for $2.97 – Use the $1.00/1 coupon here and pay just $1.97 per package (print 2)
The Upromise $1.00 coupon didn't come off that I could see. I really didn't think it would, I've never had 2 eCoupons come off on 1 item. But Upromise typically has coupons you don't find on other eCoupon websites. So it's still a great resource.
We'll keep you posted. If anyone else is using Upromise and has something to add please let us know, I'm relatively new to Upromise and I'd love to hear feedback. Thanks!
A word about eCoupons – If your eCoupon doesn't come off check out this post here. I keep it handy on the Tip & Tricks page of the site. Don't just shake your head and say oh well. These companies make big money getting the coupons to us so make them keep their promise. If you're certain you've done everything correctly file a complaint. It's easy! You'll get the money for that coupon put back on your Smith's card to use on anything in the store next time. I've only had to do this twice now, so I'm not sure why I hear of so many people having problems. The best thing I can say is make sure your product matches the coupon. I have been guilty of that a time or two myself.

July 13, 2010 at 9:18 pmOh, sorry if you misunderstood. No, they don’t come off on your grocery bill, that’s right. The coupon amount goes into a savings account. But, the times I’ve used them they show as being redeemed on the receipt. So, you know it was accounted for. With the Charmin nothing showed on my receipt to show acknowledgment of the coupon use. So, I don’t think that this particular coupon went into the savings account, because I had another eCoupon that proceeded it. I’m tracking it, but I’m pretty sure you can not use an eCoupon and an Upromise coupon together. Upromise and paper coupon however, I know will work together.

July 13, 2010 at 6:08 pmThe Upromise e-coupons do not come off at checkout, so you won’t see anything come off on your receipt. Here is part of an email I received directly from Upromise about e-coupons. HTH:
“You will not get the amount off your grocery purchases for using
eCoupons. The eCoupons college savings will go directly into your
Upromise account and it is in addition to any other college savings you
may receive.
In order to earn college savings from eCoupons, you need to select the
eCoupons you want, activate your eCoupon list and then purchase the
eCoupon product with your registered grocery/drug store card.
Your initial eCoupon college savings can take up to 90 calendar days
from your date of purchase to post as pending in your Upromise account.
Subsequent college savings should post as pending in your account within
approximately 60 calendar days of your purchase.”
