Trees of Diversity – November 21 – December 31 at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center (1355 W 3100 S). The Trees of Diversity exhibit showcases not only decorated trees, but also gingerbread houses, wreaths, nativities and other holiday scenes. Bring the family on November 21 for the official opening reception and enjoy more than 25 trees decorated by different ethnic arts groups from throughout the valley. Refreshments and music will also be provided. This is a free event.
Macy's Believe Campaign – stores are promoting a “Believe” campaign where children can drop off their letters to Santa at any Macy’s store. Just look for the red drop box. For each letter received, Macy’s will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Elves at Gardener Village – November 22 – December 24. Try your luck with our fun, family-friendly scavenger hunt. Be sure to check your list twice and get all the correct locations for Santa’s little helpers. This a wonderful activity for families, children and youth groups. Print your elf hunt form beginning November 22, 2013.
Festival of Trees – December 4-7 at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy. There will be Entertainment, Santa Land, Kids Corner, Elf Emporium, Scones, Sweet Shoppe, gingerbread houses, and over 700 beautifully decorated trees on display. Admission is $5/adult; $3/child (2-11) – 100% off all money raised goes directly to help the Primary Children's Hospital. Discount tickets are available at most Zion Bank branches. Family Day is 12/4 where up to six immediate family members get in for $15.
Christkindlmarkt and Lantern Parade – December 5-7 at This is The Place Heritage Park. Admission is free and offers a unique holiday shopping and cultural experience,
South Jordan Light the Night – Friday, December 6 from 6:30-8 pm at South Jordan City Plaza (1600 W Towne Center Dr). This is a Free event that includes free hot chocolate and cookies, free ice skate rental, and Santa arrives via fire truck. There will also be a Candy Window display unveiling.
Bountiful Christmas Magic on Main – Friday, December 6 at 6pm. Beginning at 400 South and Main, heading north on Main Street to 400 North then north on 200 West to the South Davis Recreation Center, where the parade will disband and revelers will be treated to entertainment and refreshments and Santa Claus will greet youngsters.
Midway Christmas – December 6-9. There will be one of the largest Creche exhibits in the US. Admission is Free and includes a children's activity room and musical performances. Santa will also be at Midway Town Hall along with crafts, vendors, gifts, entertainment and more.
Helper Electric Light Parade – December 6 & 7 at 7 pm at Helper Main Street. Fireworks immediately following Saturday's parade.
Ogden Nature Center Open House – Saturday, December 7 from 9-4 pm. Admission is Free, there will also be free hot chocolate in the yurt. Enjoy holiday shopping, vendors, a bake sale, exploring the wintery trails and more. All proceeds benefit the Ogden Nature Center.
Swan Eco Center Open House – Saturday, December 7 from 11-2 pm. The festivities will include a visit from Gilbert, the Park City Moose, a book signing by Utah authors Heidi Shadix-Pieros and Rick Pieros, a kids-run craft market, recycled craft events for all ages and hot cocoa, hot cider and holiday treats. Admission is Free and Santa will be there from 2-4 pm, get your pictures with Santa for Free.
Red Butte Garden Holiday Open House – December 7 & 8 from 10-5 pm. Admission is FREE and there will be complimentary cider and hot chocolate. The Orangerie will be filled with local artists who have created an array of handmade gifts for sale including jewelry, pottery, fiber art, photography, and more.
Utah Oval Holiday Festival – Saturday, December 7 from 5:30-10 pm at the Utah Olympic Oval (5662 S Cougar Lane, Kearns). An evening of non-stop entertainment! Ice skating, ice sculpting, tractor rides, hockey game, figure skating show, crafts, Funny Face photo, concessions… and don't forget to visit Mr. and Mrs. Claus at the North Pole! Admission is only $2 or $1 with a food bank donation (skate rental not included, $2.50).
Bountiful Breakfast with Santa – Saturday, December 7 at 7:30 am at Wight House (95 N Main St). Enjoy breakfast with Santa, proceeds benefit the Bountiful Food Pantry.
Salt Lake’s first streetcar in more than 50 years will begin operation in Sugar House. To celebrate, UTA is inviting the public to ride the new S-Line Free with a food donation on Saturday, December 7 between 10 am – 6 pm. There will also be children’s activities, food and entertainment at the S-Line’s Fairmont and 300 East stops.
Provo Lights On Ceremony – Saturday, December 7 at 6 pm in front of the City Center (351 W Center). See Santa light Center Street and welcome the Christmas season. Then explore Provo’s Christmas Market.
Library Square Holiday Celebration – Saturday, December 7 from 11 – 4 pm. There will be a screening of Arthur Christmas, performance by the Grinch Players, kids crafts, and more.
Winter Wonderland Figure Skating Recital – Saturday, December 7 at 7 pm at George S. Eccles Ice Center (2825 N 200 E, North Logan). Skaters skating to Holiday favorites. Free Admission but requesting cans of food for the 5th Annual Cache Valley Credit Union Holiday Food Drive.
Free Murray Symphony Holiday Concert – Saturday, December 7 at 7:30 pm at Murray High School (5440 S State St). Murray Symphony will be performing with the Riverton Children's Choir. Admission is free, however, donations are accepted and there will be a clothing drive for donations to the Road Home.
Free Wasatch Symphony Concert – Sunday, December 8 at 7 pm at All Saints Episcopal Church (1710 S Foothill Dr).
MOA Family Workshops (Provo) – Saturdays in October at BYU Museum of Art – Monika Bravo: Landscape of Belief. On any one Saturday of their choice families can take a guided tour of a current exhibition and create a fun, hands-on art project, free of charge.
