Festivals & Fairs:
Homestead Fall Festival (Midway) – Saturday, Oct. 13 & 20 from 11am-4pm at the Homestead. Experience horse-drawn hay rides, a precious pumpkin patch, pumpkin decorating, hot cider, pumpkin fudge, fall barbecue, storytelling and more.
Sunset Festival (Salt Lake) – The Gateway Mall, Wasatch Front Farmers Market and FM100 are partnering to provide The Gateway's Sunset Festival ever Saturday in October from 3-7pm. There will be live music, artisans, crafters, sidewalk sales, demos, sampling and more. Free concerts at the Plaza from 4-6pm. Free Parking Validation will also be available at The Gateway and FM100 booths.
Herriman City Pumpkin Festival – Saturday, Oct. 13 from 5-7pm at W&M Butterfield Park (14199 S 6400 E). Free activities include: candy scavenger hunt, bounce house, toy walk, and more. There will be a costume contest and Pumpkin contest.
Pumpkin Festival (Cedar City)- October 13 from 10am-3pm at 77 N Main St. Activities include cookie decorating, fish pond, pumpkin bowling, face painting, photo booth, Ghost Gobble, musical  bales and more. Price is $5/child.

Deseret News Home Show – October 12-14 at the South Towne Expo. Regular adult admission is $10, seniors are $7. If you missed the previous discount, you can get a $2 discount if you purchase online.
Hero Day – FREE Admission Friday is 10/12 – Military, Fire, & Police admitted free. To receive a complimentary admission pass simply show your valid ID at the information desk at the entrance to the show.
Gluten Free Expo – Saturday, Oct. 13 at the South Towne Expo. Tickets are $8, kids 8 & under are free our a family 4-pack is $28. You can get a $2 discount here.
2012 Pepsi World Flowboarding Championships Flow Rider (Ogden) – October 10 – 13 at the Salomon Center (2261 Kiesel Suite #2B). Activities include concerts, free entertainment, free meet and greet.
Gardner Village Witch Displays – Shop and see their hilarious display of plump, green-faced, wart covered witches dressed to the nines. Print off a Scavenger Hunt for the kids and take the completed paper to the Neborhood Baker to get a cookie for only $0.35. Monster Mash & Dash (Kaysville) – October 13 from 5-11pm at Heritage Park. Bring your family dressed in costumes and enjoy some fun activities: pumpkin painting, family 5K, food booths, movie (Nightmare Before Christmas), scarecrow walk, pumpkin painting contest, kids games and more.
Whispers in the Park (Ogden) – Saturday, October 13 from 11am-5pm at Weber State University (1905 University Cir.). There will be inflatable houses, train rides, games, competitions, craft & food vendors, live entertainment and more.  This is a fundraising event for the Epilepsy Association of Utah.
Halloween Carnival (Midvale) – October 13 from 12:30-3:30 at Copperview Rec. Center (8446 S Harrison St). There will be storytelling, games, haunted house and face painting.
South Davis Preparedness Fair – October 13 from 10am-2pm at Woods Cross High School (600 W 22oo S). Admission is Free with classes and speakers, hands-on activities, kids korner, tour emergency vehicles, and more.
Utah Museum of Contemporary Art – Saturday, Oct. 13 from 2-4pm. Children ages 5-12 and their adult companions are invited to explore UMOCA exhibits and hands-on art activities. Admission is FREE.
MOA Family Workshops (Provo) – Saturdays in October at BYU Museum of Art – Art Makes Sense! Exploring Sound in People in a Hard Land: Iconic Images of Life in the Southwest. On any one Saturday of their choice families can take a guided tour of a current exhibition and create a fun, hands-on art project, free of charge.
