Festivals & Fairs:
Thanksgiving Point Harvest Festival – September 28 & 29 at Water Tower Plaza. Kick off the fall season with music, harvest art projects for kids, food, and vendors. On Saturday (9/29), community favorite Utah's Giant Pumpkin Grower's will be having their 8th annual Giant Pumpkin weigh-off competition. Admission is Free!
Zion Canyon Music Festival – September 28-29 at Springdale Ball Field. This event is Free and full of music, food, arts, climbing wall, bounce houses and more.
Swiss Days (Santa Clara) – September 28 & 29. Just outside of St. George, this home-town celebration has a pancake breakfast, car show, parade, entertainment, children activities and more.
Escalante Canyons Art Festival – September 28 & 29. Events include a fine arts and crafts exhibition and sale, lectures, films, workshops, poet performances, dance groups, painting competition with $8,000 given in prizes, Scott Sampson (paleontologist who appears on Dinosaur Train), and much more.
Provo River Watershed Festival (Midway) – September 29 from 10am-2pm at Wasatch Mountain State Park. This interactive festival will have live music and food and is free to the public.
Pet Fest (Taylorsville) – September 29 from 10am-2pm at City Park (4522 W. 3500 S). This is a Free event that includes youth activities, face painting, entertainment, training demonstrations, food booths, best dressed pet competition, free pet tag (limited to 1st 100) and more.

SCHEELS Sandy Grand Opening – Saturday, September 29 beginning at 5am (11282 South State Street). This store is 220,000 sq ft, has a 16,000 gallon salt water aquarium, a 65-ft ferris wheel, shooting gallery and more. The Grand Opening will include: Video Game Wars on a giant 20-ft inflatable screen, meet your favorite mascots, bounce houses and inflatable football throw, performances by The Green Man Group and The Band Hedley and much more.
Sundance Resort Harvest Market – Saturday, September 29 from 10am-4pm. Features musical entertainment, amazing food, and a myriad of artistic hand crafted items. The brilliant fall foliage amid the splendor of Mt. Timpanogos provides a beautiful backdrop for this event. Event is Free to attend, however some activities may have a cost.

Historic Huber Grove (Midway) –Â The apple orchard is open for picking on weekends in September by RESERVATIONS ONLY. Call the park Visitor Center at 435-654-1791 to reserve your two hour time slot and for more information.

MOA Family Workshops (Provo) – Saturdays in September at BYU Museum of Art – Art Makes Sense! Exploring Taste in Think Flat: Takashi Murakami and Andy Warhol: Selections from the Freedman Family Collection at the BYU Museum of Art. On any one Saturday of their choice families can take a guided tour of a current exhibition and create a fun, hands-on art project, free of charge.
Harmons Community Health Expo (City Creek Location) – Saturday, September 29 at 11am (135 E 100 S). The event will include healthy food samples throughout the store, a smoothie clinic, cooking demos, and three free nutrition workshops. This is a free event.
Free Cancer Awareness Expo – September 29 at South Towne Expo Center, Halls 4 & 5. This is a FREE event that includes tours of a giant 20-foot long colon exhibit, free skin cancer screenings, free clinical breast exams, free oral cancer screenings as well as information on cancer risk, prevention and care.

Snowbird Oktoberfest – Snowbird kicks off their annual Oktoberfest. Admission is free. This event is full of music, dancing, and traditional German cuisine. Kids can enjoy face painting, caricature artist, inflatable rides, and more. Oktoberfest runs weekends and Labor Day through October 7.
