Happy Day for Walmart shoppers. Select Walmarts are doubling coupons on Tuesday. Many Walmart's stores in Utah County have been doing this for a while, Orem, American Fork, Cedar Hills, Pleasant Grove, Lindon and Payson are all confirmed double Tuesday Walmarts.
Now Salt Lake County is getting in on the action. The Walmart located at 5675 W 6200 S will be doubling coupons up to $1.00 on Tuesdays only!
I've never doubled at Walmart before. Here's how the manager of the store told me it works. That sounds pretty good, I'm hoping that is correct. Check with your store to confirm.
- $0.25 coupon = $0.50 off
- $0.50 coupon = $1.00 off
- $0.75 coupon = $1.00 off
Management also said that select locations may be added, beginning with those in the West. Currently this location is the test location. Remember, you'll be able to ad match along with coupon doubling and WOW!

June 3, 2011 at 10:56 amRight. That that was announced for West Jordan was what they we’re doing for the “one day fiasco.” The Utah County stores only double to $1
$0.25 = $0.50
$0.50 = $1
$0.75 = $1

June 1, 2011 at 7:40 pmI also can confirm that Orem Walmarts and Saratoga Springs as well as all Ridley’s stores only double equaling to up to $1. all of these locations also will NOT ad match and double a coupon. I do know the Walmart on 5600 w and 6200 s will price match and accept a coupons (no doubling that i am aware of)

June 1, 2011 at 11:06 amSaratoga Springs Walmart is the same as AF. They only go up to a dollar on the total amount off. And they won’t ad match and double so you have to choose which is the better deal.

June 1, 2011 at 8:05 am**Tip, make sure you have all of your coupons seperated and place them on the products when checking out. They do it all manually and have to adjust prices based your coupons. I learned the hard way. This will make it go much more smooth!!!

June 1, 2011 at 7:29 amAmerican Fork has been doing this for some time. One clarification, though: they do not ad match and double a coupon. The AF stores have orange signs at each register explaining this.

June 1, 2011 at 7:35 amIn case you’re interested in the reasoning behind this, the AF manager explained to me that coupon doubling is a price match (to Ridley’s in Orem, which doubles coupons up to a dollar on Tuesdays). So they won’t do a double price match by 1) price matching the double coupon and 2) price matching another store’s shelf price.
He said doing both would be like price matching a BOGO free from one store paired with a price match of the item price from another store. They simply don’t do both. It’s one or the other. Hope that helps!
Also, AF only doubles coupons up to a $1 value. So the following would apply:
.25¢ coupon =.50¢
.50¢ coupon = $1.00
.75¢ coupon = $1.00
$1 coupon = $1.00
