Valley Food Storage Review

Recently, my family and I tried several varieties of Valley Food Storage products and we were impressed with each one. My husband said he wasn't expecting them to ALL be so good! We were really blown away by the fact that it really didn't feel like we were eating food storage food.

We tried the freeze dried strawberries, asparagus, coconut milk bites and Irish Pub Cheddar Potato Soup. They come in these resealable Mylar pouches that keep out oxygen, light and moisture so that the products have a 25 year shelf life. Plus, I like that the packages are small enough that you can easily move them around, put one in the pantry to use or grab a couple and go camping.

The strawberries, asparagus and coconut milk bites were all freeze-dried so we tried them all straight out of the bag and the everyone loved the crunchy dried strawberries and the coconut milk bites were to die for! The coconut milk bites were probably the overall favorite of my family. (We were popping them like candy!)

I made everyone try the asparagus dry just to see what they thought and then I followed the directions on the back of the package and soaked them in water for a few minutes to reconstitute them and then sauteed them in a skillet with a little butter, salt and pepper. I love asparagus and I thought that when they were cooked, you really couldn't tell that they weren't fresh! They would make an awesome side dish by themselves or would be great in a pasta dish or casserole too.

The Irish Pub Cheddar Potato Soup was easy to make, it took under 10 minutes from start to finish. The first time I made it, I made just one serving, the second time I made it, I made 5 servings at once. Each time it came out great!

I thought the flavors were really good. It had freeze dried corn, potatoes and green bell pepper in it. My only complaint is that I wished that it were a bit thicker. That is a personal preference and it may have thickened up if I had let it simmer a little longer.

We loved everything we tried from Valley Food Storage. I read the nutritional info and ingredient list for everything we tried and I was impressed that they don't use any artificial preservatives, chemicals or hydrogenated oils. Their products are also non-GMO and don't have any MSG. Check out the ingredients in the freeze dried chicken – ONLY chicken!

Another thing I liked is that you can make your own food storage kits so that you can customize it to fit your likes and needs including gluten-free and dairy-free.
