The Utah Wild Flower Festival is switching things up this year! Rather than a 4-day festival, they are offering 31 days of family friendly festivities.
This year’s individualized “virtual” Wasatch Wildflower Festival allows for social distancing and dispersed recreation, which are necessary for the circumstances we are experiencing with COVID-19.
There are three different experiences you can choose from – one is completely free:
- Wasatch Wildflower Festival (free) gets: weekly Wildflower Wednesday activities through online wildflower videos and maps of some favorite trails. The maps make it possible to go on our festival walks whenever you want. For each walk, choose one of the four ski resorts, your level of difficulty, the length of time you’d like to hike, then grab your water bottle and sunscreen and get out there to hunt for the weekly wildflower. Afterward, take a photo, post your pic on Instagram and/or Facebook and tag with #WASATCHWILDFLOWERFESTIVAL. Photos will be entered to win a weekly prize.
- Wildflower Wander ($25) gets: This includes the free event. Additionally you will get: access to daily wildflower video releases, invited to “Ask a Naturalist” Zoom events, kids coloring and activity sheets are available for download and printing, a copy of Wildflowers of the Cottonwood Canyons guide, which retails for $25, and you will receive an invitation to play Wildflower Bingo.
- Full Flower ($50) gets: This includes: the free event, the Wildflower Wanderer benefits, PLUS a weekly link, on Wildflower Wednesdays, to a virtual cooking class with a local chef thanks to our ski resort partners. And for the kiddos, five additional craft projects are included.
All events require registration here>>
The Festival's goal and mission is to provide a fun and encouraging environment for people to learn about the wide diversity of wildflowers that are found in the Wasatch Mountains and to not only celebrate the wildflowers, but show people how to take care of them.
