Here’s a list of some free and cheap events around town.
The Festival of Trees runs through December 3rd from 10am-10pm at the South Town Expo Center in Sandy. Tickets are $5/adults; $3/children; $4/senior citizens. Children under age 2 are free. Discount tickets are available at any Zions Bank location. Every penny raised benefits the Primary Children's Medical Center. Come see over 700 decorated trees, gingerbread creations, entertainment and more..

South Jordan is holding a “Light the Night” event this Friday, Dec. 2 from 6:30pm-8pm at the Town Center Plaza (1600 W. Towne Center Drive). There will be free ice skating and hot chocolate.
Bountiful is having their Electric Light Parade on Friday, Dec. 2 at 6pm starting at 400 South and ending at the Rec. Center. There will be colorful floats, festive treats, and a visit from Santa.
Red Butte Garden's is offering Free Admission on December 3&4 as part of their Annual Holiday Open House & Art Fair.
Utah Olympic Legacy is holding their annual Holiday Festival on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 5:30-10pm at 5662 S Cougar Lane in Kearns. Admission is $2 or $1 with a canned food item. Watch hockey games, ice sculpting, figure skating, crafts and more.
Ogden's Nature Center is holding a Holiday Open House on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 9-4 at 966 W. 12th Street. Admission is Free. Come see creations from local artists, the kids can make a pinecone gnome, enjoy free admission to the Nature Center, free gift wrapping, hot chocolate, holiday swag and more.
Historic Downtown Provo is holding their “Lights On” event on Saturday, Dec. 3. The parade begins at 5:30pm and will run along West Center Street. This is a free event.
Lakeshore Learning stores offer a free craft every Saturday from 11am-3pm. This Saturday the kids can make a Magnetic Mitten Notepad.
Pottery Barns Kids is offering a National Geographic Little Explores event Saturday, December 3 at 10am. Kids ages 3 and up will learn about penguins through hands-on activities, quizzes, songs and more–go here to locate a store (Trolley Square has a Utah location).
Toys R Us is holding a Countdown to Christmas event on Saturday, Dec. 3 from Noon-3pm. Meet Geoffery, see a demo of the FAO Schwarz Big Piano, Color a countdown calendar, and free giveaways.
Christmas Elves are now on display at Gardner Village. Take the kids on an Elf Scavenger Hunt and get a Free sugar stick at Sweet Afton’s. Go Here for the Scavenger Hunt form.
