Utah has a great climate for growing delicious apples of many varieties. Cold winters and warm summers help to produce the right environment for apple growing. Most Utah apples are ready for picking between late August through October. We have created a list of Utah Apple Farms and Orchards for you to check out if you are interested in trying some local apples for yourself.
*We highly recommend calling the farms before you go. Hours can change depending on what fruits and vegetables are in season. Some of these farms are pre-picked and some are U-Pick and may require you to bring your own bushel baskets or ladders.
Box Elder County:
Pettingill Fruit Farm – 8815 S Hwy 89, Willard – Phone 801-782-8001 – If you travel Highway 89 very often, you'll recognize this family-owned fruit stand. Right now they have Early Johnathan Apples available.
Cache County:
Paradise Valley Orchard – 9971 S Hwy 165, Paradise – Phone 435-425-6203 – Opening Day is Sept 21, 2019. There will be U-Pick apples and pre-picked apples. Currently they have gala and honeycrip. Fresh pressed cider available in their store. Check out more about their farm and orchards on their website.
Zollinger Fruit and Tree Farm – 1000 River Heights Blvd, Logan – Phone 435-752-7810 -Apples and apple cider are now available. They are open Mon-Sat 10-5. For more info, check out their website.
Davis County:
Day Farms – 2500 W Gentile St, Layton – Phone 801-546-4316 – Apples were available as of Saturday September 21. Check out their Facebook page for the latest details.
Duchesne County:
Pride of Neola Orchards – 5976 Neola Hwy, Neola – Phone 435-353-4949 – Open daylight hours Mon-Sat for U-pick apples, peaches, and pears. We recommend calling ahead first to verify the hours and fruit available.
Salt Lake County:
Farnsworth Farms – 11228 S 700 E, Sandy – Phone 801-571-7119 – Check their Facebook page for apple availability. They will not be making apple cider anymore. We highly recommend calling ahead to confirm availability.
Green Acres Farm – 12702 S 900 E, Draper – Phone 801-501-0910 – This is a pesticide free farm. Open 7 am-7 pm Monday through Saturday from September through November. 27 U-pick apple trees.
Utah County:
Allred Orchards – 2109 North University Ave, Provo – Phone 801-377-0748 Open 9-6 M-F 9-5 Sat. This is a retail location for their Payson farm. Approximate apple season is August through October.
Rowley's Red Barn – 901 S 300 W, Santaquin – Phone 801-754-5511 – Rowley's believes in keeping their homegrown apples in a large refrigerated room to keep them as fresh as possible.
Burgess Orchard – 645 Alpine Hwy, Alpine – Phone 801-5546317 – This long time fruit stand offer their apples and apple juice starting in September. You can even preorder and they will send you a confirmation when your varieties are ready.
Wasatch County:
Huber Grove Apple Orchard – Located in Wasatch Mountain State Park these orchards offer U-pick heirloom apples but you must make a reservation and they go fast. For more information check out this video.
Wayne County:
Capitol Reef National Park Orchards – 52 Scenic Dr, Torrey – Phone 435-425-3791 – These beautiful U-Pick orchards are located inside Capitol Reef National Park. Apples and other fruit can be sampled for free in the orchard but you must pay for fruit taken out. See our post about visiting Capitol Reef here.
