Set the dates. Here's a nice healthy list of Utah events, fairs, festivals and fun going on around Utah for the Month of May. If you are looking for something new to do make sure to take a look.
Through – May 31, Woodland Fairies at Gardner Village: Visit the Village with your kids to try to spot these magical fairies. Various events throughout the month will include face painting, fairy parades and fairy house tours. There is also a Fantasy Run on Saturday, May 7.
Through – May 15, Cavalia OdyssO: The world’s largest touring production featuring 65 magnificent horses and 48 talented riders, acrobats, dancers and musicians, under the White Big Top at South Towne Center in Sandy. For show times and discount code information visit this post.
Through – May 7, Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival: Celebrate the return of spring with over 250,000 tulips in all colors of the rainbow. Garden tours are held daily. Fridays and Saturdays include music, food and vendors. Open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., closed on Sundays.
May 4, May the Fourth Be With You: A “Star Wars” Affair: Enjoy a performance by KFaceTV, Costume Contest, Lip Sync Battle, Sabre Training, photo opportunities, professional costume groups, prizes, vendors, refreshments and more! Adults only, 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the Viridian Event Center in West Jordan. Free event, but tickets are required.
May 6, Rooftop Concert Series feat: Provo's free Rooftop Concert Series kicks off with Utah music scene standouts. Artists line up is The Strike – The Aces – Mimi Knowles Concert starts at 7:30 p.m. at the NuSkin Plaza.
May 6, #GoMomGlow Glow Fest: Attendees can help set a Guinness World Record for longest glowstick chain with 22,000 glowsticks to cover 2.5 miles. The festival is free, but $1 donations will be taken for each glowstick added to the chain and will benefit local moms and children through People Helping People of Utah. The fest will also include food trucks and a live DJ. From 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Scera Park in Orem.
May 6, Ogden City Arts on the Town celebration: This event showcasing the arts in Ogden will take place at the WSU Downtown site, 2314 Washington Blvd. A public reception will begin at 5pm, Mayor’s speech at 5:30pm, and will remain open until 8pm. This evening will coincide with the First Friday Art Stroll which runs from 6pm – 9pm, is free.
May 6, May Day on Main: Visit floral-themed exhibitions at participating Main Street galleries and the eight artist-designed temporary public parks. The evening’s gallery and garden stroll sets the scene for a plethora of creative activities on Main Street. Look to local businesses to get in on the fun with special deals for May Day on Main participants.
May 6- May 7: Utah State University Baby Animal Days. USU Botanical Center in Kaysville. FREE activities with each ticket include: one FREE horse ride and one FREE miniature train ride. Reptiles, sheep shearing demos, horse rides, miniature train rides, and food vendors. Tickets are $7 per person for ages 3+ or $35 for families of up to six. May 7, Baby Animal Days in Grantsville: Local farmers bring their newest additions to the farm to pet and snuggle. Watch sheep shearing, wool spinning, goat milking and other demonstrations. Celebrate Grantsville’s Swedish and English heritage with Maypole activities, and enjoy a little Derby Day horseracing fun!
May 7, Draper City Arts and Crafts Festival: Find the perfect Mother's Day gift at Draper's 5th annual arts festival. The festival will feature jewelry, fine art, clothing, accessories, home decor, folk art, live entertainment and more. All items handcrafted by artists. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Draper City Park North Pavilion.

May 7, Holi Festival of Colors Salt Lake City: Festival goers will enjoy interactive dance shows, live DJs and music, food vendors, yoga, crafts and lots of colors at the Krishna temple in Salt Lake City. Tickets cost $5 for general admission. Kids 12 and under are free. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
May 7: Wasatch Community Gardens Plant Sale: Best Little Plant Sale in Utah – featuring over 30,000 plants! May 14, Safe Kids Day and Healthy Kids Day in Ogden: FREE community event that starts OUTSIDE Behind Burlington at Newgate Mall and goes INSIDE throughout the Mall. May 12-15, Building Man Sustainable Living Art Music Festival in Green River at Jenkstar Ranch: Utah's one and only sustainable living art and music festival run entirely from solar energy. Tickets include onsite camping.
May 20-through September, Sundance Scenic Lift Ride: Experience panoramic views of the mountain as you glide to the top of Ray’s Summit on a Scenic Lift Ride. Once your reach the top, take some time to explore our designated hiking trails or just sit and enjoy the mountain’s tranquil beauty. May 20-22, Living Traditions Festival: The Salt Lake City Arts Council presents this celebration of traditional folk and ethnic arts at Library Square. Local ethnic artists, including craftspeople, dancers, musicians and chefs, will showcase their talents. Children can make their own fun and colorful crafts in the kids' area. Admission is free.
May 21, Water Festival at Central Utah Gardens: Free festival where you will learn about the importance of water and how to conserve it at the Central Utah Gardens in Orem. Festival includes activities, food, prizes and water safety presentations for kids. Attendees can also drop prescription drugs. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 355 University Parkway.
May 21, Quaker Fest 2016: The Quaker Meeting of SLC invites the public to come enjoy an evening of music, food and community. Highlights include a silent auction, chili cook-off and live folk music. Childcare will be provided during the entertainment. The event is held at the meetinghouse, 171 East 4800 South, Murray, UT. $17 Advance, $20 at door, under 21 free.
May 26-29, Utah Pasifika Festival 2016: Celebrate Polynesian culture with dance, music, crafts, food and more.
May 27-28, Scandinavian Heritage Festival in Ephraim: Enjoy costumed story tellers, car show, bike race, Color Me Viking fun run, food and more.
May 28-29, Moab Arts Festival: Festival takes place over the Memorial Day weekend at Swanny City Park in Moab. Attendees enjoy handcrafted jewelry, pottery, wood art, sculpture, clothing and fine art. The event will also have a kids' activities tent, music, live entertainment and a food court. Free admission
May 28-30, Downtown Yoga Festival: Yoga for all skill levels at the Leonard will enjoy yoga classes, workshops and seminars as well as cooking classes, live music and food.. Library Square in downtown Salt Lake City. Admission starts at $30.
