Here's another great idea to keep the kids busy this summer. The new Microsoft store in City Creek has summer day camps for kids. These classes are offered for kids ages 8-13 and are free of charge.
Microsoft Summer Camps will begin in June 2015 and include:
Smart Game Coding: In this camp for “Junior Designers”, you'll use the kid-friendly visual programming language Kodu to learn about how creativity, problem solving, storytelling, and programming come together to make something all your own.
Smart Game Designing: In this “Designers” camp, go behind the screens with TouchDevelop and ProjectSpark to learn how to build and publish amazing mobile games.
Smart Movie Making: Unleash your imagination and start making real movies right from your phone or tablet.
Smart Photo Taking: Learn new tricks for taking great photos from your phone. We’ll teach you how to edit photos, adjust lighting and colors, and even apply filters for more effects.
You can sign-up for these camps here. Make sure to click on the “next” button to see all available camps and dates. I HIGHLY recommend you check them out now as space is limited. You need to RSVP and register for the camps you are interested in. If there isn't an RSVP option, the camp is full. National readers, go here to find your participating locations.
On a side note: Did you know the Microsoft store has a super nice community meeting room? You can attend free classes that Microsoft offers on window 8, Windows phone or Office.

The community space is also available for private parties, luncheons, business meetings, you could even use it for a digital scrapbooking get together and so much more! Contact the Microsoft Store to find out how you can book your event.
