Hubs and I stopped by Penny Ann's Cafe, last weekend and had planned to share our fun date morning idea on the blog. Have you been there?
Our plan was to hit the restaurant and then head into town a visit the Gilgal Gardens. Sadly, the gardens were unexpectedly closed. Maybe it was the yummy feeling in our stomachs from breakfast that made our disappointment seem unimportant. And, we did have a great time walking through Trolley Square instead.
(The Big Breakfast $8.49)
Penny Ann's is located in Salt Lake City on 1810 South Main. If you haven't been there, you really should put it on your restaurant to go list. There's a reason the line goes out the door on the weekend. And, not a single person I talked to, while waiting comfortably outside, considered going somewhere else.
(Stuffed French Toast $6.99)
Just one bite and you know you are in the right place. Penny Ann's serves fresh, homemade dishes in a cozy and charming cafe. Selections for our breakfast visit included their famous “Heavenly Hot Cakes”, “The Big Breakfast” and the daily selection of stuffed french toast. Ours was stuffed with a caramel and pecan mixture; OH MY!
Penny Ann's also has 12 different Omelets that take their names from Pac-12 schools. Being a Ute fan myself, I'm thinking that's pretty cool.
