Mother's Day is just a few days away and today we have a simple and inexpensive Mother's Day Card that is perfect for kids of any age to make for their Mommas! These cards are made with cupcake liners and couldn't be any cuter or easier.
One of my favorite frugal finds are these blank cards from Michaels. They come in a variety of sizes and colors. This pack of Recollections 50 cards and envelopes is currently on sale for $5 (reg. $10). If you find that they are not on sale when you go to purchase them, you can use one off Michael's coupons HERE to get as much as 40%-50% off. Even easier, is to download Michael's app to your phone so that you will always have the most current coupons with you.)
My kids and I had a fun time creating these cute flower Mother's Day cards out of leftover cupcake liners and a few buttons. One of my favorite things about this project is that it was super quick and used things we already had on hand. But, if you don't have extra cupcake liners hanging around, you can get them really inexpensively at most stores. You can use full size or mini baking cups. I love the way the buttons finish off the flowers but if you don't have buttons, you could also use paper, a cotton ball or even candy.
Get creative with the cupcake liners. Some we cut on the folds so that it would look like a bunch of little petals. Some of the liners were too large and we cut them down to fit on the card.
Layering the liners adds lots of interest and dimension too. Some we even folded into little triangles and then layered them. You can attach your flowers with school glue, glue sticks, tape or glue dots. Then, finish off your flowers by drawing on some cute stems. The kids can also write Happy Mother's Day, Mom or Grandma to finish it off.
These were so easy and best of all, they weren't a messy project! No painting little hands or glitter to worry about. These cards are easy to make, easy to clean up and in just a few minutes you have personalized, handmade cards to surprise Mom or Grandma with on Mother's Day!
