Remember the Park City getaway to Lespri we shared with you earlier this month? Did you go? This hotel has a super nice restaurant and a little unknown local secret is that guests are often privy to a buy 1, get 1 free coupon (varies at the time of stay).
The hotel deal is no longer available but, friend of mine lives in the Park City area and mentioned she would be going to Lespri for dinner. I asked her to take a few pics and do a quick review. Here's what she had to say…
Last week I had the opportunity to try Lespri Prime Steak and Sushi Bar on a special date night with my hubby. It's known to the locals as one of the best restaurants in Park City Utah and it did not disappoint us.
Lespri has three options for seating. All three where different with their own special touch added. The first dining room was elegant, and supper club inspired with a display of over a hundred different bottles of wine as the center piece to the room. The second option was the outdoor patio that offered a comfortable garden setting. The third (which we choose) was a the lounge that had large flat screen tv's on each corner of the room and the most comfortable and roomy booths we have ever sat in. I found it a great place to nestle in.
We first started with Lihue Sushi roll and Crab cakes. The lihue Sushi roll had crunchy shrimp, avocado topped with escolar, maguro, mango, citrus jalepeno reduction, coconut miso curry sauce, sriracha and macadamia nuts. Let me just say that those ingredients really complimented each other. The sushi chef creates all his own sauces and is known for his creative infusions. Even my husband loved the sushi roll and he is defiantly more of a meat and potato man!
The crab cakes are the recipe of the Chef’s grandmother, and they certainly reminded me of something created with loads of care. The flavors of the sauce remoulade (which had a beautiful brown mustard flavor) and charred corn with a mix of light greens, was a refreshing change to our “normal” dinning experiences in the past.
We then ordered the Salmon Scallopini and Poulet. If you are counting your calories but want to have fulfilling and guilt free meal, then you must try the Salmon! The salmon is on top of fresh and colorful heirloom tomatoes with cucumber and avocado. This was filling and I did not feel like I cheated on my diet!
The Poulet was a breast of spring chicken with asparagus and boursin whipped potatoes! My husband had only one problem with this dish, he couldn't stop eating it. I swear, he would have licked the plate if we were not in public.
Ok, I will admit I did cheat on my diet a little bit, but it was so worth it. We ordered a small side of Beignets for dessert. After watching Disney's The Princess Frog I have always wanted to try a beignet. Now I had my chance and trust me it was worth the wait! Our Server came out with a plate of four warm beignets sprinkled with powder sugar. They were accompanied with a house-made crème anglaise and blueberry compote to dip them in! It wasn't too much or too little of a dessert. It was the perfect way to end our perfect night. Plus, they are served warm and fresh – such a treat!
If you are thinking of going on a date with your special someone, you should really consider taking a lovely drive up the mountains and enjoying a elegant dinner and Park City. Lespri is one of the local favorites.
