This is a re-post. I’ve been sorting through the site, doing some reorganizing and house cleaning and stumbled on this old post. As things begin to settle down around here, I'm looking forward to posting more simple living posts like these. Today seems like a good day to re-share this one.
……………………………………………………………………………..
I met some new blogger friends at a little get together the other day. As I was sitting there with all the young mom's, kids in tow, throwing popcorn all over the place, eating too many cookies and not one veggie from the veggie tray, Mom's talking about extremely loooong days and even longer nights. I couldn't help but think about my own days as a young Mom. And now, as a Mom of grown kids, I've come to realize how much our guys go through during those crazy Mom days, how extremely important they are and how neglected they become.
Most good men never complain, because they put the kids ahead of themselves too. They love us the same, but they are thinking “…WHAT!?!!….happened to my sweet wife?” So, Mom's out there, this is for you. It's a day to remind yourself how much you love your hard working man. He needs it and so do you. Nope, it's not for Valentines, Father's Day, or his birthday. It's not a planned date night, that really is more for you than him. It's just because he's the one you can count on no matter what. He wants you, even when your hair is a mess, you have bad breath and your clothes have baby spit up on them. How incredibly lucky are you?
Here's what your going to do, it's simple and FREE. Grab a piece of printer paper and some of the kids crayons and draw him an I love you coupon. No, not a wimpy “honey I love you” coupon. I mean a really sassy, make him say WOWZA, eye popping coupon….Come on, I know you remember how…. Then fold it up and sneak it in his pocket, wallet or lunch box. That's it, don't mention it again. Take it from an old married lady…you'll be glad you did. Now stop reading this and go do it before nap time is over…..Enjoy the coupon!

January 14, 2011 at 10:16 pmI solely follow this site because of posts like this! What a great idea. I absolutely love all the work you do, and like I have expressed to you before, you keep things so realistic and honest. You make couponing fun without the insane stress I felt on other deal websites before I found you. It is a rare talent and I really appreciate you!

January 14, 2011 at 2:18 pmWe young moms do get caught up in everything and forget about the person who works super hard so we can stay home. They deserve alot of credit and we need to give it to them. Thanks for the reminder and putting our perspective back in view. It’s not everyday you see this on a coupon on site so thank you.
Btw- love this site and all the work you do so we can save some extra bucks! Thanks!!!

January 14, 2011 at 1:38 pmI definitely agree with all of you! It really seems that nowadays a truly devoted husband & father is hard to come by, and I am truly blessed by God that mine is both! P.S. Love, love, love this site too 🙂

January 14, 2011 at 11:41 amJoani thank you for this post. I enjoyed meeting you at the end of that meeting. I did not take away the same impression from what the other mother’s were saying. I OBVIOUSLY needed your kind reminder here today because it has been a while since I have done something like that for my man. I am going to make sure and do it tonight. I enjoy writing our bathroom mirror with a white board erase marker. Love your site!!! Melisa.
