Faustina Restaurant Review

The Hubs and I went to Faustina last weekend, did you check them out for Valentines?. I've posted many times about the rare discount certificate that pops up on Deal Pickle every now and again and decided it was time for a review.

This restaurant is a favorite of ours! Both the food and atmosphere are top notch. I also love the downtown location. You get the City feel of going downtown without having to hassle with the traffic. If you want to take in a movie, you can either head to Megaplex in the Gateway or over to Trolley Square.

First things first. If you are on the hunt for the perfect Calamari, you need look no further. Calamari lovers know how hard it is to find the perfectly cooked, tender rings you crave. These are it, I would not hesitate to order this starter. I also highly recommend the Candied Pecan Butternut Squash Soup. It's crazy good!

Salads are also a great choice for a starter. The Smoked Sonoma Chicken Salad (right), while not necessarily a starter, at $6.00 it is hard to resist. It has dried blueberries, gorgonzola, almond and caramelized onion tossed in pomegranate vinaigrette and finished with green apple laces. Or, you could go for a Classic Caesar Salad (left) $5.00.

Every time we dine at Faustina, I have a difficult time choosing, as the menu items are so beautiful. The pictured Wrapped Pork Tenderloin that has bacon, peas, truffle mashed potatoes and asiago cheese is fabulous! The potatoes are beyond good!

Or, try the Braided Salmon Crown with mashed potatoes, vegetable medley and smoked shallot sauce.
