Before you try this get familiar with Walgreens policies here.
After seeing all those great register rewards at Walgreens I posted here. I decided to make a trip there to help show you how you can make them go to work for you.
There are 100's of ways to make the RR's work to your advantage. This is just a sample of what you can do. I made 3 transactions today Here's how they looked:
Transaction #1
- Simply Saline $7.00 (I actually went just to get this product)
- Dulcolax $10.00
- I used the $4.00/1 coupon here = 6.00
- Dove Conditioner $4.00
- I used the $1.50/1 from the 3/28 RP
- I also used a $5.00 RR I had left over from the Huggies deal posted here.
***note many of the Dove products had $1.50 peelies on them in my store.
My total OOP for this transaction was $11.94. But, I received $21.00 worth of RR! (click to view receipt)
For transaction #2
- I got a Dove Shampoo to go with the conditioner = $4.00
- I used the $1.50/1 from the 3/28 RP (there were 2 in this circular)
My total OOP for this transaction was $2.77. And I got another $4.00 RR. (click to view receipt)
Now I have $25.00 worth of register rewards to use on my next shopping trip.
For transaction #3
- Planters Honey Roasted Nuts $2.69
- Used the $1.50/1 coupon here
- Planters Mixed Nuts $3.59
- Used the $1.50/1 coupon here (2 prints per computer)
- Dove Shampoo (I can't resist FREE stuff!)
- Used the $1.50/1 peelie
- Walgreens Daily Vitamins for Women or Men $3.00
- More FREE stuff
- Lubriderm 6oz lotion $3.99
- I used the $2.00/1 coupon here
- (4) Ore Ida Fries 2/$1.00
- I used that elusive $1.50/2 coupon that has been posted a couple of times (no longer available)
- (2) Cetephil Lotion $7.99 ea
- I used the $5.00/1 coupon here (2 prints per computer)
- coupon is now $2.00
- (2) Dearfield Dried Fruit $1.00 ea
- no coupon – just seemed like a good buy
- (2) Honey Comb Cereal .50 ea
- no coupon – they were on clearance at my store
- (2) Swiss Miss Cocoa .59 ea
- no coupon – again on clearance
Total for all this $42.03 <minus> the coupons = $22.63
Then I handed over my register rewards:
- $10.00 RR (from the Delcolax)
- $7.00 RR (from the Simply Saline)
- $4.00 RR (from one of the Doves)
My total OOP for this transaction was just $3.71. And, I still have a $4.00 dove RR. Plus, I got a $3.00 RR for the vitamins and to my surprise another $4.00 for the Dove! I'll save those for another sale.(click to view receipt)
*** You can't count register rewards twice. So I count them as savings when I receive them. So, in my grand totals I did not include the $5.00 Huggie RR. Which means all these items came to an average of .78. Pretty good when you consider the high value items I got.
I know it seems complicated. If you're new at this try starting out with some of my picks for newbies here. You will get the hang of it in no time.
