Wow! Can you believe how fast the year went by? It seems like every year there are so many things we intend to do and the next thing you know the time is gone. Make this year different and stop and smell the roses. Here's a list of fun things to do in Utah to get you started. Watch for a follow up post with part 2 as the year progresses.
Don't forget to take pictures. You can use the pictures to make a custom calendar at the end of the year to give to family and friends.

January:
See Ice Castles: Ice Castles has announced their opening day of January 8th. Hopefully you all got the discounted tickets we shared with you earlier. Tradition tells us they won't put them on sale again. Get tickets and reserve your spot now. This event does fill up.
Visit a National Park: On January 18, admission to all National Parks is free. This is an awesome excuse to see one of parks at it's wintery glory. Also, if you find that Emigration Canyon is on your list to explore, make sure to grab the discount coupon for Ruth's Diner and stop in for some hot chocolate and comfort food. The grounds are beautiful in the winter.
Bluff International Balloon Festival: January 15-17, 3 days of balloons flying over beautiful red rock in Bluff and Valley of the Gods. Glow-in, Community Dinner, Arts Fair, Ice-Cream Social, and more. Admission is free for spectators.
February:
Go to a Grizzlies Hockey Game: If you've been following me long, you know I love 'em! Grizzlies Hockey is a super fun way to have some family time, date night or night with friends. Go Snowshoeing in Park City: This look like so much for fun for people of all ages. Individuals or pairs can snowshoe around Park City for two to three hours during self-guided tours, which include snowshoes, poles, and a map, along with round-trip transportation.
March:
The annual Festival of Colors in Spanish Fork is the largest in the country! Set the date, it's held on March 26th, 2016. Price is only $5.00 and kids are free.
Take a Tour of Kennecott…. from the sky. Randon Aviation offers a 30 minute breath-taking flight over Kennecott and the surrounding region. As an added bonus, you'll get a meal at the Porch restaurant in Daybreak afterwards. Price is $118.00 via C4Udeals.com and they are very limited.
April:
Visit a Ghost Town: Checkout GhostTowns.com for a list of Utah Ghost Towns, you are sure to find one nearby.
May:

Lantern Festival: Saturday May 21.At The Lantern Fest, thousands join together to light the sky with lanterns. There will be music, dancing, s’mores and, when the time is just right, we will light the sky with our highest hopes, deepest regrets, and fondest dreams.
June:
Visit the Sun Tunnels: Sun Tunnels is an artwork by Nancy Holt, completed in 1976, consisting of four large concrete tubes, laid out in the desert in an open X configuration. The tunnels are pierced by holes of varying size that correspond with the pattern of selected celestial constellations. The tunnels line up with the rising and falling sun of the summer and winter solstices.
Warriors or the Wasatch will be held at Hill Air Force Base on June 25 and 26, 2016. Spectators will get to see a salute to our historical air power, and the awe inspiring United States Air Force Thunderbirds in flight. Plus enjoy a look at a huge collection of aircraft used in the last war, experience the size and mass of our cargo lifters, take in the agile and destructive helicopters of the US ARMY and much, much, more. The show and parking are free.
