Are you going on a family vacation?
With some pre-planing there are many ways you can save a whole lot of money before you go and once you get there!
#1 – Start with Coupons.com. Enter the zip code of the destination you are going to. Then click on the “Entertainment” category on the left of the page. I found the 2 Knotts Berry Farm coupons below under 90210. There is also a coupon for $10.00 off admission to “Worlds of Fun Oceans of Fun”, located in Kansas City, MO 64161. You can link here for a quick easy zip code finder.
#2 – Get as many travel brochure's as you can. If you are a member of Triple A, they have the most extensive FREE travel guides and maps I've seen. These kinds of brochures often have coupons in them that can save you big! Also, visit the tourism website of the city your going to, they usually have a packet they will send that will have some valuable discounts. This website here can help you locate them.
#3 – Get an Entertainment book for the city you are going to!!! This is my favorite way to save big when I travel! And, right now they are super cheap! Go here to see how to get them for as little as $1.75 each, when you buy 2.
#4 – Check Groupon and Living Social. You don't have to live in the area to purchase the offers. Just put these places on your daily check list for a couple of weeks before you go. You will get some great ideas and probably snag a hot deal on something. Imagine how much someone from another state could save by simply checking Utah's City Deals offers. You could do the same on your vacation.
#5 – Sign-up for Hotwire and Expedia's travel alerts! These can save you some big money. You will get all kinds of great travel offers! Recently Expedia had a $50.00 prepaid MasterCard offer when you purchased a 3 night hotel package through their site. The prices on these sites already beat most so the $50.00 was a great bonus you could use for dining! Plus, both are super at finding deals on last minute hotels often when others are booked up. And, they periodically offer extra's on flight purchases and cruises. I'm signed up with both of these and neither sends me unwanted junk.
With all these savings you may be surprised and be able to take a vacation to somewhere you thought you couldn't afford.
Happy Trails!
