Fresh Market has an in-ad coupon this week for $10.00 of a $25.00 purchase of Gold'n Plump Chicken. So I thought it would be fun and informative to put this coupon to the test.
First off I priced both Boneless Breasts and Thigh Family size packages. Then I averaged out the cost and calculated how much chicken you would get for $15.00 out of pocket. Here we go:
Walmart:
- Breasts $1.98 lb.
- Thighs $1.02 lb. = Average cost $1.50 lb.
- Get 10.0 lbs. of chicken for $15.00
Smiths:
- Breasts $ $1.99 lb.
- Thighs $1.09 lb. = Average cost $1.54 lb.
- Get 9.74 lbs. of chicken for $15.00
Macey's:
- Breasts $1.88 lb.
- Thighs $1.79 lb. = Average cost $1.54 lb.
- Get 9.74 lbs. of chicken for $15.00
WinCo:
- Breasts $2.68 lb.
- Thighs $.98 lb. = Average cost $1.83 lb.
- Get 8.20 lbs. of chicken for $15.00
And Finally Fresh Market:
- Breasts $5.04 lb.
- Thighs $1.60 lb. = Average cost $3.32 lb.
- Get 7.53 lbs. of chicken for $25.00 hand over the coupon and pay $15.00.
Hum…that coupon is NOT making me do the chicken dance. Oh well maybe next time.
