The Utah Grizzlies The Grizzlies are having some fun this weekend. On Friday, January 10, game goers will get a free Grizzlies poster. Then on Saturday January 11, there will be a post-game skate with the team, skate rentals will be $2. Go here for ticket information.

2014 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup – January 9 – 11 at Deer Valley Resort. The world's best freestyle ski athletes will compete in aerial, moguls, and dual moguls. All events are free to the public and their will be fireworks each night at 8:15 pm. Go here for a complete schedule.

The Salt Lake Home show is coming to the South Towne Expo Center January 10-12. Enter promo code DESIGN to save $2, making each ticket $6.

Snowbird Winter Family Flicks – Free family flicks every Friday evening at 7 pm in The Atrium Restaurant thru March 28. This weeks film is Karate Kid.

REMINDER: FREE Sundance Film Festival Screenings – Sundance allows Utah residence FREE screenings on a first-come, first-served basis. All Main Box Offices are distributing these FREE tickets on Saturday, Jan. 11.

Free Skate School Open House (Kearns) – Saturday, January 11 from 11 am – 1 pm at 5662 South 4800 West. Enjoy an afternoon of FREE ice skating, skate rentals, lessons, refreshments and more. Registration for free lessons opens at 11 am. Minimum age is 3 yrs. Class size is limited, so arrive early.

Winter Trails Day – Saturday, January 11 is National Winter Trails Day. There are 3 locations in Utah participating in this with Free outdoor events:

-Soldier Hollow (Midway) – Offering FREE trail passes, equipment and mini lessons for cross country skiing or snowshoeing.

–Ogden Nordic Winter Trails – at Ogden Nordic Center at North Fork Park. Offering ski and snowshoe tours, cross country ski clinics and lots of great DEMO gear. Trail Pass donation of $6 requested.

–Sinks Winter Trail Head (Logan) – In the past, this location has also participated in Winter Trails Days with snowshoe and cross country skiing for Free. You may want to call and verify this location.

Free Snowmobile Open House – January 11 from 9 am – 2 pm at Soldier Hollow Club House. Youth ages 8-15 are invited to take a free youth snowmobile education course from 9 to 11 a.m. or noon to 2 p.m. Utah Avalanche Center staff will offer a free avalanche safety course from 11 a.m. to noon. The course is free and open to everyone.

Owl Day (Brigham City) – Saturday, January 11 at 11 am at the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge (2155 W Forest St). Come see a live owl presentation from the Ogden Nature Center at 11 a.m. and make an owl puppet.

Free Ski & Snowboard Movies – Saturday, January 11 at 5 pm & 7 pm at Snowbird at the Aerie and Atrium. Enjoy a movie by Warren Miller,

City Jazz Big Band Concert – Saturday, January 11 at 7 pm at Jewish Community Center (2 N. Medical Drive). Admission is Free.

Excellence Concert Series (West Jordan) – Saturday, January 11 at 7 pm at the Viridian Center. Enjoy a Free Concert.

Utah Museum of Contemporary Art – Saturday, January 11 from 2-4pm. Children ages 5-12 and their adult companions are invited to explore UMOCA exhibits and hands-on art activities. Admission is FREE.

Discovery Gateway – is offering their $5 Fun Days. Get $5 admission per person for up to 4 people after 5 pm on Fridays & Saturdays and all day Sundays. Expires the end of January.

MOA Family Workshops (Provo) – Saturdays in January at BYU Museum of Art – Monika Bravo: Landscape of Belief. On any one Saturday of their choice families can take a guided tour of a current exhibition and create a fun, hands-on art project, free of charge.

Utah Olympic Oval in Kearns – There are two available options:
