Gateway Pumpkin Festival – October 18 from 11:30-2:30pm near the fountain (in case of rain, it will take place in the Union Pacific Depot Grand Hall). Grab a pumpkin and start painting (while supplies last) and pick up some info on foster parenting. This is a free event.

West Ridge Academy Scare crow Festival October 18-19 at 5500 Bagley Park Road in West Jordan. At the event, there will be Inflatables, Train Rides, Children’s Games, The Tower of Terror, a Climbing Wall, and a Bungee Jump, all available at no charge. Food will be available for purchase. This is a free event.

Free Halloween Symphony (Layton) – October 19 at 7pm at Christian Life Center (2352 E Highway 193). Enjoy music from Harry Potter, Spiderman, Lord of the Rings and more.

FREE Fremont Indian State Park & Museum – October 17-20 enjoy free park use while they film their new park orientation video.

Water Gardens Holladay 6 Grand Opening – October 17-19 at 1945 E Murray-Holladay Dr, Salt Lake. Bring the entire family for FREE activities, bounce houses, games, prizes, free popcorn, fireworks Thursday night at 8:15pm and more. Water Gardens offers movie tickets for $3.50 and concessions are only $1, $2 or $3. They have three other locations in Utah.

Oktoberfest (Salt Lake) – Friday, October 18 at 12:30-1:30pm at Neighborhood House (1050 W 500 S). Enjoy a free lunch of rootbeer and bratwursts. The Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive from 12:30-4:30pm.

Country Farm Fest (Payson) – October 18 & 19 at the Dumas Farm (4058 W 9600 S). The is held each October. This family-produced event was created to celebrate fall, foster community involvement, and provide good, clean, country fun for the entire family.

Free Ice Skating Lesson – Saturday, October 19 at 10am at the Accord Ice Center (5353 W 3100 S, West Valley). Come visit Snowplow Sam and participate in Free skating lessons.

The Utah Museum of Fine Arts offers FREE admission every 3rd Saturday of the month. This Saturday,October 19 – come for their annual mask-making activity and decorate your own to take home.

MOA Family Workshops (Provo) – Saturdays in October at BYU Museum of Art – Monika Bravo: Landscape of Belief. On any one Saturday of their choice families can take a guided tour of a current exhibition and create a fun, hands-on art project, free of charge.
