Utah Weekend Events for: 11/16/2012

Holiday fun is starting to trickle in this weekend, many locations are hosting holiday lighting events, check out all the great fun this weekend:

• Outlets at Traverse Mountain, Riverwoods, Gateway and Tanger Outlets are all hosting lighting ceremonies with musical guest and other events.
• Check out a FREE bobsled and skeleton racing event at the Utah Olympic Park.
• Sam's Clubs around the Nation are hosting a Free holiday tasting event, open to the public.

Festivals & Fairs:

Jubilee of Trees – November 15-19 at the Dixie Convention Center. The largest showcase of custom designed Christmas trees and wreaths between Salt Lake and Las Vegas in the Washington County Area. Tickets are $3/Adult, $1/children.

Outlets at Traverse Mountain Grand Opening – Friday, Nov. 16 at 6:30pm (3700 North Cabelas Blvd, Lehi). There will be a tree lighting event, Eclipse concert, and kids can meet Santa. There will be festivities throughout the entire weekend with additional performances and giveaways. There is also a special preview event on Thursday Nov. 15 from 5-9pm, bring a food item to donate for a chance to win prizes.

Utah Olympic Park FIBT World Cup – November 16 & 17 at the Utah Olympic Park (3419 Olympic Parkway, Park City). FREE admission to watch Bobsled and Skeleton racing. The 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia are less than 500 days away. Grab a sneak peak and enjoy a FREE community event with great food and more.

Christmas Elves are now on display at Gardner Village. Take the kids on an Elf Scavenger Hunt beginning November 19.

Also, Nov. 17 is Midnight Madness at Gardner Village from 6pm-midnight. Receive incredible discounts, coupons and prizes.

Holiday Taste of Sam's Club – Friday, November 16 – Sunday, November 18 from 12-5pm at Sam's clubs nationwide. This is FREE and open to the public. There will be many time-saving, ready-made desserts, appetizers, main dishes and more to try.

Lighting of the Riverwoods – Friday, November 16 from 6-9pm (4801 N. University Ave, Provo). Bring in the holidays with musical guests Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband, Shannon Edgemann, Sam Schultz and more. Festivities including: ice sculptures, face painting, warm treats, carriage rides, and more.

Gateway's Light Up The Night – Saturday, November 17 at 6pm at the Gateway Mall.  Featuring Kurt Bestor, songs by One Voice Children's Choir. Bring the little ones to help usher in Santa Claus! Sing your favorite holiday carols while enjoying complimentary hot chocolate and cookies.

Tanger Tree Lighting Ceremony (Park City) – Saturday, November 17 at 6pm (6699 North Landmark Dr). Listen to carolers while you enjoy FREE hot chocolate and snacks. Visit with Santa Claus and his elves. Everyone who attends will receive a Free center-wide coupon book and 20% off Tanger Style coupons, you can also print off a 20% off coupon here.

The Utah Museum of Fine Arts offers FREE admission every 3rd Saturday of the month. This Saturday, November 17 you can print your own postcard.

MOA Family Workshops (Provo) – Saturdays in November at BYU Museum of Art – Art Makes Sense! Exploring Sight in Think Flat: Takashi Murakami and Andy Warhol: Selections from the Freedman Family Collection at the BYU Museum of Art. On any one Saturday of their choice families can take a guided tour of a current exhibition and create a fun, hands-on art project, free of charge.

Kid's Pottery Barn Doll Tea Party – Saturday, November 17 at 3pm & 4pm. A special tea-time benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
