Do you have your Register Reward from last week?
If you haven't been following along, jump in now. So far we have paid $7.48 out of pocket for 2 Cottonelle 12 roll pack, 1 Keri Lotion 15 oz. & 1 Pert shampoo For our purposes I'll leave out filler item prices, since those vary by choice. If you're new to Walgreens just jump in any time and follow along each week. I'll keep this going for a while and we'll see where it takes us.
Week 1: We started with the Cottonelle deal. We purchased 2 Cottonelle 12 Roll packs and paid $7 out of pocket and received a $3.50 Register Reward to use next week.
Week 2: We purchased 1 Keri Lotion. After coupons and Register Reward we paid $0.49 + the cost of our filler item and received a $5 Register Reward.
Week 3: We purchased Pert 2 in 1 shampoo + conditioner. After coupons and Register Reward and the cost of our filler item we paid $0.18 and receive a $3 Register Reward.
Week 4: We purchased (1) Crest Complete Deep Clean toothpaste and (1) Oral-B Complete Deep Clean toothbrushes and a filler item. After coupons we paid $0.25 + the cost of the filler item and we got back another $3 Register Reward.

Walgreens tip #1: Filler items: Walgreens requires that you purchase 1 item for each manufacturers coupon you have. A Register Reward is considered a manufactures coupon. So, you will have to purchase a small “filler item”. The Penway 2 pocket folder for $0.17 is a good choice. A Walgreens coupon does NOT count towards your coupon to product ratio.
Walgreens tip #2: Rotating a Register Reward: Register Rewards are sponsored by the company that makes that specific product. You can not use a register reward to purchase another product made by that same company and get another Register Reward. However, you CAN use a Register Reward towards a different company's product that has a Register Reward offer and you will receive a Register Reward from that company.
In the case of the Keri for example, you could not turn around and purchase another Keri lotion, use the Register Reward to pay and then receive another $5 Register Reward. If another product of Novartis (makers of Keri) happens to be on Register Reward you could not use it for that either. You can tell what company issued your Register Reward by looking just below the Walgreens logo. Here's a close up of the Keri Register Reward. You can see it was issued by Novarts. So, if Pert were made by Novartis this deal featured in week 3 would not work.
Walgreens tip #3: What if they run out? It is HIGHLY likely they will run out periodically. Because they are a smaller stores they often don’t have the the large supplies needed to meet demands, it can be frustrating for newbies. They are learning however! It’s been better lately than ever before. Keep in mind, Walgreens stocks up once during the sale. Find out what day that is and try again then. Truthfully, I don’t haul out of bed at 6 am Sunday morning to get FREE toothbrushes. NO WAY! I do most my Walgreens shopping on the very last Saturday of the sale. That’s when my store gets their second shipment.
