Utah Ruth's Diner Restaurant Review

With all the Ruth's Diner coupons that were released this past weekend, We decided to take a drive up and show you just what to expect.

Ruth's Diner is located up Emigration Canyon about 10 – 15 minutes east of Hogle Zoo. It's an easy and beautiful drive up and this Diner does not disappoint. Ruth's is the second oldest operating restaurant in Utah with roots that go back to 1930. In 1949, when the building in Downtown Salt Lake was demolished, Ruth bought a trolley car and quite literally moved the diner to Emigration Canyon. This Trolley Car still serves as part of the dining room today.

(Grilled Artichoke – $7.29) -(Veggie Sandwich – $8.99)

We have been to Ruth's many times and I will warn you, it is very hard to choose what to eat. This is not just your ordinary Burger & Fries diner. Although, the Burger and Fries are DELICIOUS and you can expect the menu to hold all of the traditional diner fare, you'll also experience things like an Artichoke Hearts & Mushroom Omelet, Salmon BLT and their signature Deep Fried Mac & Cheese, honey, it's worth the calories!

It was breakfast for this outing, or course, my meat and potato hub had good old fashioned Bacon & Eggs $7.29. My seafood palate couldn't resist the Crab Cake Benedict- poached eggs on lump crab cakes, English muffin, tomato and hollandaise sauce with Grapefruit $11.99. The crab cakes were delicious. Where some restaurants offer bread crumbs and tasteless amount of Crab, Ruth's defiantly doesn't scrimp, these little babies were packed with Crab meat.

Every Utahan should try to make the journey to this restaurant that has so much Utah history. Make it a stop on your way up or down the canyon, you won't be sorry.
