Venture Outdoors Festival kicks off this Friday, June 6, 2014 and runs thru Friday, August 22 at Canyon Rim Park on 3100 So. 2100 E. in Salt Lake City. This is a weekly series. This free, family-friendly event features live music, recreation clinics, guest speakers, giveaways, creative children's activities and more.
Fort Douglas Museum 70th Anniversary of D-day – Friday, June 6 from 3-9 pm at Fort Douglas Military Musuem (31 Potter St). This free event will include: history re-enactors, weapons and equipment, screening of “The Longest Day,” starring John Wayne.
Free South Jordan Fitness & Aquatic Center – Saturday, June 7 from 6 am – 9 pm at 10866 S Redwood Rd. As part of South Jordan's Country Fest, admission is Free all day.

Utah Lake Festival (Provo) – Saturday, June 7 at Utah Lake State Park (4400 W Center St). Enjoy activities for the whole family that includes: games, kids activities, sand volleyball, horeshoe, boat tour, hay rides and more. This is a free event!
Summer Library Kickoff Party (West Jordan) – Saturday, June 7 from 10 am – 2 pm at Viridian Center (1825 W 8030 S). This Free event includes live music, entertainers, activities, giant inflatable playground, train ride, crafts and more. Sign up for the Summer Reading program. There will also be food trucks available to purchase lunch.
Family Day Hike (Pleasant Grove) – Saturday, June 7 at 8:30 am at Pleasant Grove Rec Center (65 E 200 S). Enjoy a free light breakfast and a short hike up the Battlecreek Trail with games and activities along the way.
Day on the Farm (Midway) – Saturday, June 7 from 10 am – 2 pm at Canyon View Farm (970 N River Rd). Join the Dairy Farmers of Utah as they celebrate the beginning of June Dairy Month with this FREE event. There will be games, farm tours, face painting, bouncy houses, crafts, free pizza and ice cream and more.
The Mix (West Valley) – Saturday, June 7 from 6 pm until dark at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center (1355 W 3100 S). Join the celebration with multiple cultures and ethnicity with music, dance, food, face painting, balloon animals, bouncy houses, fireworks and more. This event is Free.
Cache Valley Storytelling Festival (North Logan) – Saturday, June 7 at 12 – 10 pm at Elk Ridge Park. This is a Free event.
Cottonwood Heights Orchestra Summer Concert – Saturday, June 7 at 7:30 pm at Butler Middle School (7530 S 2700 E). Free Admission.
MOA Family Workshops (Provo) – Saturdays in March at BYU Museum of Art – Monika Bravo: Landscape of Belief. On any one Saturday of their choice families can take a guided tour of a current exhibition and create a fun, hands-on art project, free of charge.
