Several weeks ago we shared a special offer that Zilio's pizza has. Did you get your free Pizza? If not, it's still available (details here). The hubs and I stopped by to take advantage of ours and I thought I would share some pictures and offer up a quick little Zilio's Artisian Pizza Review.
Zilio's is located in Sandy on 10367 So. State. It's location directly across State Street from South Towne Center make it a great place to stop while out shopping, before or after a REAL game or, while attending an event at the South Towne Expo center.
Zilio's is not a traditional sit down and dine restaurant but, styled more like Rumbi's or Panda where you order in line and then they deliver your order to your table. The seating is great and while you're waiting you can enjoy an inspiring story about the history of it's name sake, Giovanni Zilio.
The menu is a very good value, with 8″ Street Pizza's coming in as low as $3.25 and 10″ Pizza's for $4.25 to $5.25. Gourmet salads are $4.25 (sm.) and $5.25 (lg.) and Calzones and Stromboli's are $5.25.
Zilio's offers a wide variety of Pizza's including your traditional Meat Pizza's and Pineapple and Canadian Bacon to pizzas like BBQ Chicken, Pulled Pork and even Pear (bianca pizza topped with asian pear, caramelized onions, blue cheese & balsamic vinegar glaze) YUM!
For this visit I decided to go out on the wild side and try their Sorrintina (bianca pizza topped with sliced lemons, mozzarella & fresh basil). I also indulged in a Pear and Blue Cheese Salad (pear, blue cheese and red bell pepper, candied pecans served with mixed greens tossed in house made pear vinaigrette served with ciabatta crostini). Hey, when in Rome…. Plus, with a free pizza I might as well give the salad a try too right?
The salad was great. They weren't stingy with the toppings, but I must pay tribute to the little  jewel of a pizza. The lemon's were sliced nice and thin and had a nice little char on the edges. This pizza did not disappoint me and left me with a nice little pucker.
The hubs dug in to a Meat Pie (with a request to add Olives). I didn't try it but, he said it was really good. We both agreed the crust was the perfect crispness (not to thin or thick). They also offer a Gluten Free crust option.
Last, it seems worth a mention, that Zilio's gives a nice Utah local nod in their beverage selections. They offer locally produced Apple Beer as well as Jackson Hole Huckleberry Soda and there's even a bottle of Coconut Syrup handy for those that like to dirty their Diet Coke.
Now, on to the good stuff… the coupons. Currently you can give Zilio's Artisan Pizza a try for yourself completely FREE of charge.
