On this compelling day of remembrance, I know each of us has spent time thinking about where you were on that horrific day and how it effected you and your family.
Like so many Americans, I was at the 8 hour, day to day grind, of work. Myself and a cluster of close knit workers huddled around an old 12 inch black and white TV that the boss scrounged from the storage room closet. We all stood in disbelief, watching the impossible, an attack on US soil. “Was this real? Or someones sick joke of a modern day replay of War of the Worlds? It must be a mistake!?”
On this 9/11, as you take a moment to remember and pay tribute to the lives lost, the innocent travelers, New York City workers and our brave American soldiers that have and are willing to pay the ultimate price to keep us safe, consider honoring your freedom with a random act of kindness.
As time passes it is easy to become complacent about these simple actions that pulled our great nation together when it was bleeding. Make a donation to the local Food Bank, the boxes are set up and waiting at many stores, donate blood, volunteer for a community project, or even a simple letter to a loved one that you have been putting off.
Thank you to everyone that stood tall and served when our country when it was injured. I am truly sorry for those that lost so much. Enjoy your hard earned and well guarded freedom, not only on this day of remembrance, but each and everyday.
Today, I will honor my freedom by _________.
