I'm still shaking my head in disbelief at what just happened.

A friend of mine told me about a promo Smith's and Dr. Pepper have going that she thought I would want to share. She told me to buy (3) 12 packs of Dr. Pepper and I would get a catalina for a chance to win various prizes including Iron Man movie tickets, gift cards and more.

So I thought I would go check it out. 2 days ago I went to the Smith's and found a sign that said I only needed to buy 2 boxes to get the code. So, I disregarded my friends advice an bought 2. At check out no catalina. I shook my head and said to myself “that was dumb, when will you learn to listen?” What I didn't notice was that the checker had put the catalina in my sack when I wasn't looking.

Now this friend of mine is no dummy when it comes to deals at Smith's and she had said I had to buy 3 cases. So I went back today to try it again and buy the 3 she said to get. First off you have to buy 3 to get the best sale price. Silly me I usually watch for these things.

(3) – 12 packs of Dr. Pepper products are on sale for $10.00 – but only in quantities of 3. In addition my Smith's had  peelie's on some of the boxes for $1.00/2. So that made my 3 Dr. Pepper's $9.00 or just $2.00 each. (a screamin' deal for Dr. Pepper)

It wasn't until I got home from work today that I found the other catalina code that had fallen inside my trunk. So now I have 5 cases of Dr. Pepper and 2 codes. (good thing we like Dr. Pepper)

I went the DP website and entered my first code and to my surprise i won A FREE MOVIE TICKET! My first thought was they have been so free with movie tickets these days maybe everyone wins a movie ticket the first time around. So, rather than enter my second code. My hubby set himself up an account for the second code in hopes he would win a movie ticket too.  And to our surprise he won a $10.00 GIFT CARD TO SMITH'S!!
