How to make an Italian Cream Soda:
Ingredients:
Ice
Flavored Syrup (Torani or Stasero are common brands)
Club Soda (try Lemon Lime soda if you want your drink sweeter)
Cream or Half & Half
Whipped Cream
Fruit for Garnish – Optional
Straws – Optional
Fill a tall glass with ice and add about a half inch of syrup. Add the club soda, leaving room at the top for cream. Add a splash of cream and stir. Garnish with whipped cream and fruit if desired.

First, I used a $5 chalkboard to write the instructions on how to make an Italian Cream Soda. You'll also need a variety of fruit flavored syrups. (I got my Stasero syrups at Orson Gygi in Salt Lake for between $5.00-$5.99. Many grocery stores sell Torani brand on the coffee isle but it can be a bit tricky to find the fruity flavors the best place to find the fruity ones is WorldMarket.com) There is some investment in the syrup but since you only use a small amount, a bottle will last a long time.
Next, you'll want to have some tall, clear glasses and lots of ice. I wanted to keep my Italian Soda Bar simple but clean so I wrapped some scrapbook paper around the club soda bottle and the whipped cream can, to hide the original labels. I also poured the half and half in a pretty little bottle I got for $1.99 at Target. Throw in some stripey straws and fruit for garnish and you're ready to host your very own Italian Cream Soda Bar!
Happy Sipping!
**Update 5/30/17 – If you are in Utah, I have found a screaming deal on Torani brand flavored syrups at the Costco on 300 W 1818 S in Salt Lake City. (This Costco is currently the largest in the world so you will not find this selection at most stores.) They have TONS of flavors, more than I have ever seen anywhere for just $4.49 for the big 25.4 oz bottles. (Thanks to my friend Lisa for the frugal find!)

June 1, 2017 at 2:31 amI saw on Studio 5 that there is a restaurant supply store with all of the Torani flavors. $4.39
Cash and Carry located at 300 West 1100 South, SLC, UT
Also, to minimize curdling with the acidic flavors (orange, lime, raspberry, etc.) you must follow this order.
Syrup
Cream or half and half
Stir until blended
Add ice
Slowly add CHILLED soda
Stir gently
Top with canned whipped cream
Think of the Old Spaghetti Factory Italian Soda glasses with the little red line at the bottom. They make a perfect drink. (There are usually a bunch at the D.I.) Add Syrup to the red line, then add an equal amount of cream so that you have the same amount of liquid above and below the line. Then Stir. Add cubed ice up to the red and green line at the top, or crushed ice half way to the top line. Slowly add chilled soda up to the red and green line. Then top it with canned whip cream, and add a straw! ( I usually do all my stirring with a straw too.)
