The LDS Humanitarian Center, built in 1991 is located in Salt Lake City and has been the hub for providing humanitarian supplies to millions of people of all nationalities and religions. Each year the Humanitarian Center ships out approximately 8 million pounds of shoes and clothing, 300,000 hygiene and school kids, and 12,000 new quilts to over 50 countries.
Currently, there is a need for more new quilts. Quilts can be hand or machine quilted or tied. You can find specific instructions and details on size and fabric here.
Sometimes the best thing we can offer is our specific skills. If you have the ability to quilt or some fabric scraps laying around, this would be a fun project for an individual or a group.
Finished quilts can be dropped off to the Latter-day Saint Humanitarian Center 1665 Bennett RoadSalt Lake City, UT 84104. For more information, you can call 801-240-5954 or email HumanitarianCenter@ldschurch.org.
