UPDATE: This event was actually Friday August 3rd, not Saturday as was in the post. My deepest apologizes for the confusion as I did mis-read the information on Gateway's Facebook page and did not see the correct date. I feel horrible about any problems this caused you.

It's always fun to find things to do in Utah that don't cost much. Here are a couple of ideas for Saturday.
Have the kids create dinosaur sculpters and take them to Clark Planetarium tomorrow, Saturday 8/4. They will be rewarded with FREE admission to FREE admission to “Dinosaur Passage to Pangaea” on IMAX 3D! Plus, they can enter their sculptures into a contest, to possibly win a family membership to Clark Planetarium. The “Claymation Dinosaur” event starts at 10 am, the film starts at 11 am and lasts about 35 minutes. You have to love it when the coupon is your childs work of art!

Or, you might head to Hogle Zoo, where kids can get $2 off admission when they bring their favorite Teddy Bear.
Your kids will get a Hogle Zoo ribbon for their stuffed pal, a take-home craft, and from 1:00-2:00pm, they can get a thorough check-up for their animals by our vet staff. They will even receive a certificate for a clean bill of health.

August 4, 2012 at 2:24 pmI saw your post yesterday and had my kids stay up late and make their dinosaur creations. Imagine their disappointment when we arrived at the planetarium this morning only to learn that the event was actually yesterday and not today! I just wanted to let you know because the planetarium employee told me there were several others who had come in with sculptures today who had seen this post. They said they could not give me any sort of discount on the tickets I ended up purchasing today, but they were going to try to contact you to see if some sort of compensation could be made for those of us who had made the effort to participate but had been given inaccurate information about the event.
Thanks for the time and effort you put into this blog. We’re all “only human” and I’m glad I’m not the only one who makes mistakes from time to time! 🙂

August 4, 2012 at 3:15 pmHi Krisi, I don’t even know how to begin to tell you how sorry I am and, I especially want to thank you for your reply. I found the event via my Facebook feed from Gateway on that day and did not stop to look at the date of the post. I feel like such an idiot! It is mistakes like this that help me learn most, and drag me down the most too. Thanks for your kind words again, I am very sorry. Joani
