Daddy daughter dates can be such a special time together. It can be a time to create some great memories and build a strong bond. Our family tries to regularly set aside one-on-one time with each child and either mom or dad.
Today, we want to focus on some great ideas for daddy daughter dates. Spending time with your little girl will mean so much more to her than anything you could ever purchase for her and create lasting memories. Here are 20 of our favorite ideas that are free or won't cost a whole lot:
- Go for a bike ride, roller skating, Â or scootering. We love to go to the Jordan Parkway (or a pathway like that) where you don't have to worry as much about running into cars.
- Have a movie night. Keep it simple, pop some popcorn and rent a Redbox.
- Play a sport. Sports aren't just for your sons. Teach your daughter some of the basics of a sport she has some interest in.
- Play a board game or card game.
- Go out to eat, check out our list of kids eat free restaurants. Is dinner too expensive? Go out for breakfast on a weekend morning or get out early before work and school. Grab something easy like bagels or doughnuts.
My husband brings lunch to our girls' school a few times throughout the school year. It's something they love and a great way to meet their friends. - Walk to the corner gas station or corner market for a drink.
- Go to a sporting event. Cut down the cost and visit a local high school sporting event. Pick your team and cheer them on.
- Make a special meal or treat together.
- Fly a kite.
- Plan a hike – check out our list for some great hike locations and bring a picnic or snack.
- Take a scenic drive. Crank up the music and sing along. This is also a great time to just talk and drive. Many times kids will open up more easily when talking in the car rather than face to face.
- Visit the pet store.
- Feed the ducks.
- Visit a farm.
- Get your ghost stories ready and camp out in the backyard.
- Give each other a make over, do her nails and let her do yours. Mud masks are also a blast.
- Go fishing.
- Go sledding or build a snowman.
- Visit a playground or splash park.
