SALT LAKE CITY – The Leonardo Museum in downtown Salt Lake City, is currently hosting Gunther von Hagen's Body Worlds & the Cycle of Life exhibit. This exhibit celebrates the wonders of the body in childhood, adulthood and across the arc of aging.
This amazing traveling exhibit, has been seen by nearly 40 million people in more than 70 cities around the world. You'll see 19 full-body plastinates displayed in various action poses, like hockey and baseball players and dancers, allowing you to see the muscle function of the athletes as well as the benefits of being active.
There are also various organs and body slices that let you see the changes from birth through adulthood and then into old age. I personally found the exhibit inspiring. It evoked the sense of the power that I had to altar my own mortality. I literally left wanting to hop on the nearest treadmill.
This is a great reason to make the trek downtown and visit library square. Keep in mind that exhibit may not be considered suitable for some children. I suggest you visit the BodyWorlds website for some sampling's of the exhibits before taking the kidlets.
