Do you remember last summer there was a shortage of the Johnson & Johnson Creamy Baby Oil with Aloe Vera & Vitamin E because it was reported on social media to repel mosquitoes and be safer for babies and kids?
Well, this summer I thought I would see check it out for myself but when I checked online to buy some, I found 8 oz of Creamy Baby Oil for $118.95! What?!
After some research I found this story (below) that explains that Johnson and Johnson has discontinued it which is why it is so hard to find and why it is so costly. Despite the fact that there is no evidence that it is actually a bug repellent, Johnson & Johnson is considering bringing it back because of it's popularity.
In the mean time, rather than paying $118.95 I found some other options that you may want to try.
Walmart's Equate brand also makes a Baby Oil Gel with Aloe Vera & Vitamin E that sells for $2.54.
Of course, we can't guarantee that any of these products will repel mosquitoes but hey, for under $4 they are a good option if you want to test them out for yourself. Have any of you tried using baby oil as a bug repellent? If so, let us know if it worked for you and your family!

June 13, 2021 at 3:54 pmI’ve used skin so soft by Avon for 20 years for mosquitoes. My grandma used it on us kids. I used it on all my kids and now my grand kids. I will be trying the equate brand since it’s cheap. I’ll give an update.
