I love Fall with its vivid colors, comforting foods and crisp air. I think I treasure the sights, sounds and smells of fall because they can seem short lived between the hot Utah summers that last well into September and the snow showers of mid-November. I love lists. So, I made you this printable list that you can print out, refer to, circle your favorites and cross things off. Many of these activities are free and some aren't. You can take these suggestions and use the ones that fit your schedule and budget.
- Go to a pumpkin patch – Nothings says Fall like picking a pumpkin right from the farm. See our list of pumpkin patches for one near you.
- Watch a football game – There is lots of football to be had in the fall. Check out your favorite team on TV or in person!
- Carve pumpkins – For the best price on pumpkins, buy them just a few days before Halloween. If you need some carving inspiration, we have gathered hundreds of carving designs here.
- Take a hayride – There are quite a few locations to take a hay ride in Utah, see our list of hayrides and other fun activities here.
- Drink apple cider – Apple cider is so easy to make from scratch in your slow cooker, my favorite recipe is this Homemade Apple Cider.
- Make chili – Is there anything better than having dinner ready in the slow cooker when you get home? Try this Crock Pot Chili from The Country Cook for the perfect fall dinner.
- Go to a haunted house – Love a good scare? There are quite a few haunted houses throughout Utah that promise to scare you right out of your skin!

- Jump in leaves – After jumping in the leaf pile, try this fun leaf hunt for younger kids or these leaf animal pictures for older kids.
- Watch Hocus Pocus – Currently, Amazon has Hocus Pocus to rent for just $3.99 or free with Amazon Prime membership.
- Make a bonfire – A backyard bonfire is a fun way to entertain in the fall when the temperatures go down and the air is crisp. This DIY Firepit is inexpensive and quick to make.
- Go Trick or Treating – Don't forget these Trick or Treating safety rules.
- Buy a new scarf – If new boots aren't in the budget, treat yourself to a new scarf check out these 40 Ways to Tie a Scarf.

- Watch a new TV series – Fall is when many of your favorite TV shows come back on as well as many new series.
- Attend a Veteran's Day concert – Utah's 23rd Army Band and combined Granite school district choirs present an amazing concert for Veteran's Day. Get more info here.

- Go to a farmers market – Many farmers markets last into October and the cooler temperatures make wandering through the market even more enjoyable. Look here for a farmer's market near you.

- Volunteer at a soup kitchen – You can search for a soup kitchen/food pantry near you on the Homeless Shelter Directory website.

- Read a good book – Grab a blanket and curl up on the couch with a good book. We have some amazing Utah authors, check with your local library for some suggestions or go to Good Reads.

- Scarecrow Festival – Two fun ones are the Scarecrow Festival in Park City and the Thanksgiving Point Scarecrow Festival in Lehi.
- Make a pie – Fall is a great time to bake pies. With apples in season, try out Freezer Apple Pie Filling and enjoy apple pies all year long.
- Watch It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown – Check your local listings or if you want to own it, you can buy it here.
- Try a new soup recipe – Fall is soup weather! Try a fall soup tonight!

- Check your fire detector batteries – The International Fire Chiefs Association recommends changing fire detector batteries once a year with the Daylight Savings Time shift on the first Sunday in November.

- Visit a local farm – Wheeler Farm is one of my favorites in the fall. The leaves are beautiful, the kids love to see the animals and they have wagon rides too.
- Decorate your porch – I love to decorate my porch for fall, here are 120 ideas to make your porch stand out this Fall.
