Last night I had the opportunity to attend a screening of The Stray. This is an inspiring true story filmed here in Utah and opens nationwide on October 6.

Written and directed by Mitch Davis who also wrote The Other Side of Heaven. This story is Mitch's own family story and how their dog, Pluto, changes his family for the better.

This stray dog finds Mitch's family as they are struggling and falling apart. Pluto brings the family together and becomes a guardian angel and an answer to their prayers in various unlikely ways.

Stars of the film Sarah Lancaster and Michael Cassidy

I loved this film. It is a great family friendly film for the whole family. At one point in the film there is a song playing with the following lyrics: Don't let evil get you down. In this madness spinning round and round. With the recent shootings and all the current happenings in the world, this moment in the film especially touched me. We need more films like this that bring us up and inspire.

Go check it out this weekend!
