I never know how to start a restaurant review. Like many Empty Nesters, the Hubs and I eat out quite a bit. I have dozens of photos from the various restaurants stored away, that haven't made it to the site, mainly because I don't know where to begin. So, from now on I'm just going to dig in and skip the fuss of the intro, if that's good by you?
During our Holiday Staycation, we decided to go dine at the Citrus Grill. This is a restaurant we are slightly familiar with, but we had not been to in quite a while. Citris Grill is a moderately priced, casual dining restaurant located in a small strip mall on 2991 East 3300 South. You can go here to take a look at the menu. One of the things I like about the menu is that they offer half portions on many items.
We started with Calamari. Now I have to admit, starters aren't something we order often, but I had a feeling I'd be posting this, so we dug in. This Calamari was tasty and prepared and seasoned well, what I really loved though, was the Jalapeno, Artichoke Tartar Sauce. It didn't quite live up to the heat of it's Jalapeno name, but it was delicious!
On to the main coarse. My personal favorite, Butternut Squash Fettuccine. Butternut Squash, Portabello Mushrooms, Tomatoes in a cream sauce ($13 for a large or $7 for a small).
Hubs is fond of Citrus Grill Pizza and goes for the traditional Pepperoni & Sausage ($12 large, $6 petite). He enjoys the crispier crust you get from the fire grill. Love Pizza? Take a look at the selections, that include BBQ Chicken Pizza, Spinach & Artichoke Pizza or Chicken and Black Bean Pizza.
If you are looking for a nice bite, from a locally owned restaurant, that won't break the bank, this is a great one to stop by and give a try. The restaurant was clean, our server was great and the menu has something for most all appetites.
