Old Carpet

Picture it, the oldest, rattiest, worn and even threadbare, cheapest contractor carpet all over your home for the last 18 years. That was me last month. After years of living with carpet that was all stretched out from cleaning, matted and just plain awful, we finally scrimped and saved up enough to get it and started the hunt of finding a good place to make our purchase.

We priced store after store, compared fibers, listened to pitch after pitch. Our problem was we wanted short and more sturdy in some rooms and on the stairs and soft, plush and fluffy in other rooms like the bedrooms, and we wanted it all to match. That's when we visited Ogden's Carpet and Design Center in West Jordan and found exactly what we were looking for.

Short and Long Piles Made of the Same Fiber and Color

At Ogden's they special order carpet that is made for them specifically that comes in both short and long piles. The carpet is nylon fiber, finished with a tight twist and is super soft and durable. Plus, it comes in a long or short pile. Allowing you to put vary it from room to room depending on traffic and still have cohesive look. We put the short pile in our family room and on the stairs because they get so much more traffic and the longer plush pile in the hall and bedrooms.

The installers were on time, friendly and courteous, and did a great job. They even helped move around some of the furniture. One of the nice things, is in addition to all the normal warranties, they will also restretch it at anytime if needed for the life of the carpet.

Our new carpet has been in for a month and so far we are very happy with our purchase, of course time will be the ultimate test. But, you know those soft cushing carpets at the home shows? That's what it feels like, it's so super soft. Plus we have that new house smell.

If you are in the market for new flooring, you'll want to add this location on your price comparisons. Make sure to print off the coupon below for some additional savings. That free premium upgrade on pad is a good one. We had to pay for that.  Note that coupon is only valid at the West Jordan location on 6271 Dixie Dr. Be sure to tell Robert we sent you.
