I keep asking myself why “Slime” has been so popular lately and then the kids and I make some Slime (to keep the kids from going stir crazy this summer) and then I remember why it's so popular. It is kind of addictive!! Once you start playing with Slime, it's hard to stop. We have made about 5 batches of this Glitter Slime and it has become our favorite because it works perfectly every time and is super stretchy!
Glitter Slime only has 3 ingredients: 6 oz of Elmer's Glitter Glue, 1/2 tbsp. baking soda and 1 Tbsp. contact solution.
Empty the whole bottle of glitter glue into a bowl.
Add 1/2 Tbsp of baking soda and stir together. The mixture will get a little thicker.
Add 1 Tbsp of contact solution. Mix together with a spoon.
After stirring everything together, it will become a big lump of sticky, gooey Slime. There will probably be a little water left in the bowl. You will need to pick up the Slime and use your hands to “knead” it. The mixture is sticky at this point and will stick to your hands. Pulling and stretching it the Slime will change the consistency so that it is not sticky anymore and will stick to itself but not your skin.
Now you have a super stretchy, super smooth Glitter Slime that should keep the kids entertained long enough for you to sneak a bowl of ice cream and maybe a nap!
Happy Summer and Happy Slime!
