Party Snacks This cheesy recipe for Cheese Bite Party Snackers is the one that disappears first at any party. It's perfect for game day snacks, and family get togethers, and can be fancy enough for tasty offerings at elegant dinner parties. Making them is so easy it's a dream.

There are tons of flavor variations when you change up the cheese combinations that are only limited by your imagination. Here's how I make mine and the various changes I like to spruce them up.

Basic Cheese Bites Recipe

  • 1 8 oz. package grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons grainy mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • Ground red pepper to taste
  • 1 (16-oz.) white sandwich bread slices (I like a sturdier dryer bread)

Preheat oven to 375°. Beat cheese and butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until blended. Beat in cream, egg, worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt and pepper.

Cut crusts from bread slices, then cut each bread slice into 4 squares or triangles. Spread about a teaspoon of cheese mixture top of one of the pieces of bread and top with a second piece of bread.

Spread more cheese mixture over top and sides of sandwiches. Place sandwiches, 1 inch apart, on a lightly greased baking sheet.Bake at 375° for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Variations for Cheese Bites:

Lox & Cream Cheese Bites -
Omit Worcestershire, Mustard and Red Pepper.
Use Italian Blend Cheese instead of Sharp Cheddar
Add 2 Tablespoons softened Cream Cheese, and 1 1/2 Tablespoons chopped fresh dill to cheese mixture.
Top with a teaspoon cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers and a sprig of fresh Dill.

Pizza Cheese Bites:
Omit Worcestershire, Mustard and Red Pepper.
Use Pizza Blend Cheese blend instead of Sharp Cheddar
Add 1 1/2 Tablespoons red pasta sauce, to cheese mixture.
Top with a teaspoon of red pasta sauce, a slice of crispy fried pepperoni and sliced olives.

Taco Cheese Bites:
Omit Worcestershire, Mustard and Red Pepper.
Use Mexican Cheese blend instead of Sharp Cheddar
Add 1 1/2 Tablespoons Taco Seasoning to cheese mixture.
Top with a teaspoon of sour cream and a slice of grilled jalapeno.
