Salt Lake County has so many great parks and playgrounds, we had a hard time narrowing it down, but these are 14 of our favorite parks and what you can expect at each park.
- Wardle Regional Park (Bluffdale) – Located at 14148 South 2700 West.
This is a huge park on 40 acres of land with one of the largest splash pads you will find. You will find huge slides, zip line, climbing wall, toddler play area, sports field, basketball court, 16 pickleball courts, and splash pad. This park has something for everyone. keep in mind, since it is such a large park, it can be difficult to keep track of kids.
2. Wheadon Farm Park (Draper) – Located at 13965 South Bangerter Parkway.
This is a cute little park with a farm theme. There's a play barn, stump-pulling tractor, climbing haystack, crop circle swings, hay derrick tire, pickleball courts, and sports field. My kids loved climbing and pretending to drive the tractor. The barn has two slides and lots to climb on inside the barn.
3. Union Park (Midvale) – Located at 7360 S 700 East.
This park has been newly updated with a large playground with lots of climbing structures, toddler playground, swings, horseshoes, volleyball, and baseball fields. We love this park in the summer because its one of the few parks that has shade almost anytime of the day.
4. Holladay Park (Holladay) – Located at 4580 S 2300 E
This park has a large playground, climbing structure, swings, teeter totter, ziplines, sports field, baseball field and more. Something unique we love about this park is that there are swinging chairs built above the baseball diamond that are fun to relax in or watch the sunset from. This park is also within close walking distance from some great shops and restaurants right in the heart of Holladay – perfect for a picnic in the park.
5. Knudsen Park (Holladay) – Located at 6293 Holladay Boulevard East.
This park has a playground, swing, water feature, field and walking path. You will also find posts to attach a hammock at multiple “hammock garden” areas. Big Cottonwood Creek runs through the back of the park, which makes you feel like you're in the mountains. We love taking a walk around the grassy area where you'll find a bridge that crosses the creek. The kids love spending time at the water feature where you can turn water off and on and direct it's path.
6. Mountain View Park (Cottonwood Heights) – Located at 1651 Fort Union Boulevard.
There are two playgrounds – one is for toddlers, climbing structure, splash pad, basketball court, tennis courts, and sports field. My older kids love playing on the play structure with the lights that light up and you have to rush to push the green lights. This is a big park with so much to do. The splash pad is also fun to cool off in during the summer.

8. Wild West Park (West Jordan) – Located at 1825 West 8000 South.
This park is located in West Jordan's City park, also known as Veteran's Memorial Park where you will find 4 other playgrounds nearby. This playground is built to look like an Old West town. We loved it's location to the Jordan River Trail which if you travel west for about 5 minutes you will find a community fishing pond, which makes for a nice little walk and a fun place to spot ducks.
10. Wheeler Farm (Murray) – Located at 6351 South 900 East.
The main reason we love this park is because it located on an actual farm. The playground is located in the southwest corner of historic Wheeler Farm. It includes a large playground fort with slides and a toddler playground. Once you are done playing on the park you can check out the pigs, cow, horses, and more at the farm. There's also a large pond with ducks and Little Cottonwood Creek runs by it. You can also pay a small fee to ride a wagon or cow train. You'll also find antique farm equipment, my kids love pretending to ride the old tractors.
